I Believe in Jesus Christ
The Word Became Flesh
Read John 1:1,2,14–18
Jon was just a boy taking a bath when he asked his mother a profound question. Pinching the flesh of his newly bathed arm, he asked, “How did God make skin?” Mom had no answer.
It wasn’t just the 8 pounds and 22 square feet of skin that the average person bears that Jesus accepted when He became human. He accepted all of the other organs and maladies that come with becoming flesh. He experienced teething, exhaustion, sweat, body odor, dust in the eyes, pimples, and bad hair days. Why did He do it? Jesus did it so He could live among us. During that time He revealed His glory, showed us His Father, gave His life sacrificially, and was resurrected. What a Savior!
From the fullness of his grace we have all received one blessing after another (John 1:16).
When we look at the abundance of blessings from God’s hands for His creation, the greatest blessing is the gift of His Son coming in flesh to be our Savior.
Challenge for Today: Think of all the blessings God has bestowed on you. Take time to thank Him for all He has done.
